Its steel structure was designed with only four columns throughout the entire plant to maximize open workspace. Aiming for LEED certification, the building also incorporates high-performance electromechanical systems, notably allowing for the recovery of heat generated by production.

The challenge
During the foundation work, organic soils incapable of supporting the planned loads were discovered at significant depths, requiring an unforeseen intervention in the middle of winter. The complexity of the electromechanical systems linked to the LEED objectives also required sustained coordination to ensure their delivery, installation, and commissioning fit into the schedule.
Our approach
Faced with the soil conditions encountered, the inadequate materials were completely removed and the foundation work was reorganized to absorb this setback without slowing down the rest of the project. In parallel, tight planning of the electromechanical equipment and constant coordination between the various stakeholders made it possible to orchestrate their installation and commissioning in sync with the construction pace.
Results
Despite the unforeseen issues encountered during the foundation phase and the complexity of the technical installations, the initial schedule was maintained. LP Royer now has a plant adapted to its operations, where large open spaces, heat recovery, and a high-performance building envelope contribute to creating an efficient environment built to last.
