The challenge
Constructing the foundations directly in the river was one of the most complex phases of the project. The caisson piles had to be drilled from barges in nearly 70 feet of water, reaching depths of over 110 feet. The sheer size of the steel caissons and rebar cages, combined with the challenges of working on the water, required exceptionally precise coordination of all operations.
Our approach
To carry out this work, each sequence was planned based on the equipment, river conditions, and environmental constraints. Special attention was given to the management of sediment and drilling mud, as well as the handling of steel caissons and rebar cages. Once the foundations were completed, the steel structure was installed using the launching method, allowing construction to progress steadily over the river.
