More than just a new grocery store, this Avril location plays a central role for the brand in the Quebec City region. Its interior layout incorporates Avril's new design identity and offers a modern environment tailored for the in-store experience. Its kitchen was also designed to support other branches in the region, making this new space a true hub for the brand's operations.

The challenge

Throughout the project, every choice had to strike the right balance between the vision for this new generation of stores and the available resources. When certain bids exceeded established targets, we had to find ways to preserve the design intent while keeping costs under control.

Our approach

Close monitoring of expenses allowed us to quickly identify elements to optimize and evaluate different solutions with the client. Rather than simply cutting costs, the teams proposed options to maximize the value of every investment and make informed decisions throughout the build-out.

Results

The new space reflects Avril's refreshed identity while fulfilling a role that goes beyond that of a traditional grocery store. By combining an in-store experience with production capacity for other branches, it now helps support Avril's growth and operations in the Quebec City region.
