Site Superintendent / Foreman (South Shore): Your day-to-day responsibilities

Leading Site Operations

  • Communicate daily work plans and assignments to site crews while ensuring expectations are clearly understood.
  • Plan workforce requirements in collaboration with the Project Manager and adjust staffing based on the project schedule.
  • Provide strong on-site leadership that promotes collaboration, accountability, and productivity.

Managing Tools, Equipment, and Materials

  • Plan material, tool, and equipment requirements for upcoming work.
  • Coordinate orders and deliveries to keep projects moving efficiently.

Delivering Successful Projects

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all construction activities on your assigned project.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, including drawings, specifications, site instructions, change requests, shop drawings, RFIs, foreperson notes, and other project documentation.
  • Understand the project scope and assess its impact on the surrounding environment and community.
  • Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Participate in three-week look-ahead planning with the Project Manager and project stakeholders while coordinating upcoming site visits.
  • Coordinate the work of subcontractors and project partners by establishing clear work sequences and holding coordination meetings when required.
  • Organize site logistics with the Project Manager, including temporary access routes, site trailers, washrooms, storage areas, unloading zones, and required equipment.
  • Prepare weekly site reports documenting workforce attendance, completed work, significant events, issues, and weather conditions.

You're a hands-on leader who enjoys solving problems, coordinating people, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant construction site experience, including proven experience as a Foreperson or Site Superintendent.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing site conditions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide field teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multiple project stakeholders.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, standards, and work methods.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while managing changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, OneDrive, email, iPhone, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • A valid CCQ competency card is considered an asset.
