Expand, renovate, and modernize, all without closing the doors. The Metro Plouffe in Waterloo underwent a major transformation, including a 9,000 sq. ft. expansion, renovation of the existing store, exterior facade upgrades, and significant parking lot improvements. The entire project was carried out in several phases to allow the business to continue its operations throughout construction.

The challenge

Keeping the store accessible to customers throughout the construction period required balancing daily operations with an ever-evolving job site. Every intervention had to be planned with careful consideration for construction progress, safety, access, and the customer experience.

Our approach

Coordination became the common thread of the project. Weekly meetings between the client, professionals, and construction teams made it possible to track progress and prepare each new phase based on the store's activities. This continuous planning allowed for interventions to be adapted as the project moved forward, all while maintaining the space required for operations.

Results

At the end of the various phases, the Metro Plouffe in Waterloo was able to renew and expand its facilities without interrupting its business. The store now features modernized spaces and updated infrastructure, all while having continued to welcome its customers throughout the transformation.
