The Majestic is a residential building with 86 units spread over eight stories, located on the shores of Lake Boivin in Granby. Built on piles with a concrete structure, the building features two basement levels and ten stories of structural slabs—a design that meets the requirements of this large-scale project while ensuring its strength and durability.
The challenge
The building's location restricted access to two of its facades, a reality that required careful planning of operations and logistics throughout the construction project.
Our approach
To optimize travel and keep the project on track, the teams used a tower crane and brought the elevator online ahead of schedule. These decisions made it easier to carry out work on the construction site despite access constraints.
The project was scheduled to be completed within 18 months. To maintain the pace of work, the teams relied on rigorous planning, constant monitoring of supplies, the use of a tower crane, and weekly meetings supported by the Last Planner method. This sustained coordination ensured the project’s progress throughout its duration.
Results
The project has brought to life a new 86-unit residential community on the shores of Lake Boivin, where high-quality construction meets an exceptional location. This sustainable development enriches Granby’s housing options while highlighting this prime area of the city.
