The challenge
Modernizing and expanding a wastewater treatment plant while keeping it fully operational was a demanding construction challenge. Every phase of the project required careful coordination to ensure that operations could continue, as maintaining uninterrupted service was critical.
Our approach
To ensure the work proceeded smoothly, the teams scheduled targeted equipment shutdowns, installed temporary bypass piping, and carried out a major overnight operation to temporarily divert all of the city's wastewater. This rigorous planning, combined with close collaboration with City operators and project partners, allowed the work to be completed safely and efficiently without compromising plant operations.
Executed in an environment where multiple pieces of equipment remained operational, this project required rigorous planning and constant coordination. Complex concrete geometries, confined spaces, and the high tolerances required for installing process equipment guided every stage of execution. Custom-prefabricated formwork, 3D modeling of work sequences, and close collaboration with our various partners ensured precise integration and efficient delivery.
